What three words would you use to describe mentorship?

Connection, Experience, Perception.

Why do you think mentorship matters in 2023?

When people think mentorship, I think it can often feel overwhelming, but really - it's people connecting and learning from one another. It's about sharing experiences, insights and knowledge, and being open to exploring new ways of doing things and new ways of thinking. I've had the privilege of being a mentor and having mentors, and I am truly grateful to have had the opportunity to sit on both sides of the table. As 2023 begins, I think mentorship, be it informal or formal, should be something to explore.

Are there any mentorship programs you're aware of/participating in/and/or created that you'd like to share with the EnPoint community as examples of how mentorship can be used to support all in building meaningful careers?

At Digital Nova Scotia, we've worked with EnPoint for a number of years and embedded many of their initiatives within our career-building programs. You found this on their website, so you must be aware of them by now - but if you aren't - I encourage you to connect with their team!

Is there a memorable "mentorship moment" you'd like to share?

Of all the students I've mentored in the past, I have a few that stand out in my mind - but I think less because of the mentorship moments we shared, more so because I've been able to watch the amazing things they've gone on to do.
