About Rafaela:
Dr. Rafaela Andrade moved to Canada from Brazil in 2008 to start graduate studies in cancer research. At this time, she was awarded prestigious scholarships and prizes for research and innovation. During her last year in the program, she had her first child and returned to Dalhousie University to write and defend her thesis. Shortly after that she started her Post Doctorate Fellowship (PDF) and welcomed another two children to her family. She always being interested in translational research and finding ways to improve health care. After experiencing life circumstances related to fall injuries and weight gain, she became very interested in muscle biology, therefore in the last year of her PDF she founded Myomar Molecular to disrupt the way we monitor and prevent muscle loss. Now, she is dedicated to grow the company and improve people’s life quality. She is a global citizen, passionate about creation and innovation.

Good Listener, honesty, optimism
Why do you think mentorship matters in 2023?
Mentorship is key to continuous growth, I believe that we all need to have good mentors who push, cheer and guide us to success!

I went through Lab2market program and met incredible mentors!

I have many moments of my career that I relied on my mentors to help me through the challenges of building a business.
